The Presidential Council (PC) member, Mohamed Ammari Zayed discussed on Tuesday, with the Turkish ambassador to Libya, Serhat Aksen the military situation in Sirte and Jufra district, in addition to the political process and joint projects between Libya and Turkey.

During the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s office in Tripoli, Ammari Zayed affirmed that the Government of National Accord (GNA) is determined to expand its control on all Libyan territory.

"There are no two conflicting parties in Libya. There is a legitimate government, which is the government of all Libyans without exception, attacked by the putschist "Haftar"," said Libya's PC member, stressing that there is no place for Haftar in the political process, but his place is in the domestic and international courts.

He also emphasized that both countries share common grounds to work towards shaping a better future for the two nations, and to stand up for all challenges facing their partnership.

For his part, the Turkish ambassador reiterated his country's firm position in its support for the GNA as the only legitimate government recognized internationally, stressing that this was Turkey's position in all international forums.

"There will be no dialogue with the war criminal Haftar and those who have supported him in his crimes in Tarhouna and elsewhere, Aksen underlined.
