Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Emad Al-Sayeh has participated in the second virtual annual meeting of the General Assembly of the Arab Organization for Electoral Administrations.

The meeting, which took place on Sunday, discussed several important topics concerning the electoral system in the Arab regions, including the Arab Women Network and its role in enhancing the participation of women in elections, besides the progress made regarding the establishment of the Arab Youth Network which is expected to be approved by the organization at its upcoming general assembly.

the participants also reviewed the organization’s activities as per the work plan 2020, and the amendments that occurred as a result of the epidemiological situation, a statement by the HNEC said on Facebook.

It is noteworthy that the Arab Organization for Electoral Administrations was officially launched in the Lebanese capital Beirut in 2015 with the Chairmanship of Libya's HNEC head, Emad Al-Sayeh.

The organization is considered the first professional body in the region concerned with strengthening regional cooperation in the field of election management.
