The United Nations (UN), the African Union (AU), the League of Arab States and the European Union (EU), have called on the Government of National Unity (GNU), along with other Libyan authorities and the 5+5 Joint Military Committee, to fully implement the ceasefire agreement, including security arrangements and confidence-building measures.

In a statement, the Quartet stressed the importance of the Joint Military Committee in developing a strong, productive and credible Libyan system for monitoring the ceasefire.

It also expressed their support for all relevant efforts and their readiness to contribute to these arrangements in line with the relevant Security Council resolutions.

It condemned the ongoing violations of the arms embargo and said that all foreign military interventions in Libya are totally unacceptable, calling for full compliance with the arms embargo and the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of all foreign and mercenary forces, in a way that restores Libya’s sovereignty and preserves its territorial integrity.

The Quartet stressed the need to dismantle armed groups in order to ensure reintegration, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement, affirming the implementation of these programs and procedures without delay in order to ensure the security and integrity of the electoral process throughout the country.
