The Libyan Interior Ministry of the Government of National Accord has announced that it will shut down three major detention centers of illegal immigrants.

The Interior Ministry said last Thursday that it would close Tajoura migrants' detention center, which was bombed by Khalifa Haftar's forces killing over 50 migrants and injuring over 130 others.

It also indicated that it would shut down Al-Khums and Misrata migrants' detention centers.

No further details were given by the Ministry, but reports said that the step was taken after criticism from the UN over claims squalid conditions and inadequate food supplies.
