The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) condemned the abduction of the Tripoli military prosecutor Masoud Erhouma, who was kidnapped from in front of his house last Thursday.

The NCHRL said in a statement that such a kidnap is a serious indication that there is no respect for judiciary in Tripoli.

"Since the military prosecutor is the top official of the military institution in Tripoli, his kidnap is undoubtedly an indicator of the fact that Tripoli is not safe due to abduction, arbitrary detentions and other crimes." It adds.

It also said that the Presidential Council has done nothing to stop such crimes.

"We call on the PC to quickly reveal the fate of the prosecutor, free him and bring to justice those who kidnapped him." The NCHRL added.
