Libyan Grand Mufti, Sheikh Sadiq Al-Gharyani has called on citizens to stand with the Government of National Accord (GNA), and on the government to carry out its duties and support the war-wounded and battlefronts with all the means available.

"The government should integrate with its people and not accept any compliment at the expense of the national interest," Sheikh Al-Gharyani said.

On his weekly program, Islam and life, on Tanasuh TV channel, on Wednesday, the Grand Mufti called the government to benefit from the wide public support they received for standing against Haftar's aggression on Tripoli and not to succumb to the international community because its intervention has no limit.

He also urged all categories of the society and the battlefronts to unite strongly behind the GNA, saying "It is the legitimate cover for our fight against the aggressors."

The Mufti called for a Libyan-Libyan initiative to resolve the current crisis in the country, stressing that the international community role should be restricted merely to the process of observation.
