The Director of Ras Ajdair border, Mohammed Jarrafa, said that the Ministry of the Interior has started boosting the security presence on the border to secure it and ease up the procedures that the travelers face on the border in coordination with Zuwara Municipality and the security personnel in there.

Jarrafa clarified that 300 soldiers and 100 vehicles were brought to the border by Criminal Investigation Department of the Interior Ministry to help eradicate smuggling and other issues, confirming that the border is operating normally.

Customs officers in Ras Ajdair border previously went on a strike in mid-January calling for protection and arming to be able to do their jobs properly.
