Libya and Qatar discuss activating suspended agreements and developing economic relations

The Prime Minister (PM) of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdul Hamid Debaiba, discussed with the Qatari PM, Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the development of economic and business investment relations between the two countries and the activation of a number of agreements which were previously suspended for various reasons.

Both sides also discussed ways of holding of a meeting between the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) and the Qatar Electricity and Water Company, to study the possibility of cooperation between both institutions.

The meeting also touched on the issue of encouraging and supporting investment in Libya through the establishment of a number of important projects, particularly reconstruction and benefiting from the Qatari experience in the building of a new sports city.

The meeting was attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), the President of the Libyan Investment Authority, along with a number of Qatari ministers.
