The French Foreign Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, met Monday with military officials of the Presidential Council's government and discussed unification of Libya's military institution, reviewing as well Cairo meetings' results in that regard.
Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala, Deputy Defense Minister Wahida Najem, Chief of Staff of the PC, Abdelrahman Al-Taweel and other officials attended the meeting with Le Drian.
Presidential Council's media office said the attendees of the meeting agreed that military unification needs a united political vision and a successful political agreement, adding that they agreed to activate training deals between France and Libya.
The member of the High Council of State Abdelrahman Al-Shater said on Twitter before the meeting that Le Adrian would discuss the possibility of French military presence in the region.
Le Drian also met with politicians and municipality members in Misrata.
Finishing his meetings in western Libya, Le Drian flew from Misrata airport to Benghazi - eastern Libya - where he met with the commander of the self-styled army Khalifa Haftar.
Le Drian arrived Monday morning in Tripoli coming from Tunisia with the intent to hold meetings with Libyan rivals to push for holding elections as per the Paris declaration of principles held on May 29.
