The Libyan Illegal Immigration Fight Authority (IIFA) released earlier today the last group of Tunisians held in Tripoli after they have provided medical and legal documents.

The Head of the Protocol Bureau and the IIFA’s representative, Abdurazzak Al-Taher Al-Sheniety said that the arrest was part of a campaign conducted by the IIFA targeting all of the nationalities residing in Tripoli.

He clarified that the release of the 172 Tunisian nationals, who were arrested this month, was coordinated with the Tunisian Deputy Minister of Immigration and Borders Affairs as well as with the Tunisian Consul in Libya, who warmly thanked the Salvation Government and the Ministry of Interior for their sincere cooperation with the Tunisian Consulate regarding the release.

Earlier, the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Taieb Baccouche has announced the release of 30 Tunisians out of the total number as a first phase.
