The Italian newspaper, La Stampa revealed Wednesday that a hot quarrel has taken shape between the renegade General Khalifa Haftar and France because of the downing of the French helicopter in Benghazi and the pressure by the US on the French government pushing it to stop supporting Haftar's militias.

"The main reason for the rift between Haftar and France is the intention of the former to attack the oil ports, especially his ongoing attack on Zueitina terminal, which France saw as something it cannot support militarily." According to he Italian newspaper.

It also disclosed that Liberating Sirte from IS terrorists stripped Haftar of the support he used to have in the name of fighting terrorism, pointing out that he is now opening channels with Russia in order to enlist military aids for his looming attack on the oil ports.

Local sources reported earlier this week that the French troops that have been aiding Haftar for so long in Benghazi war have withdrawn from Banina Airbase "and arrived in Malta," according to La Stampa.

On Monday, a Dignity Operation militia, led by Muftah Shagloof who was appointed by Haftar, has seized Zueitina town, some 180 km southwest of Benghazi, a move seen as possible to trigger a fierce fighting for the town's oil terminal between Haftar's Dignity militias and Ibrahim Jodran-led so-called Petroleum Facilities Guard, which is in control of the terminal.
