4 Bangladeshi nationals have been killed in Benghazi, the country's Foreign Ministry confirmed on Sunday.

Ambassador of Bangladesh in Libya, Shahidul Haque, said the whereabouts of 3 of the dead bodies have already been found out while the fourth victim is yet to be identified. He identified the 3 victims as Md. Abdur Rahim (Rajbari), Md. Humayun Kabir (Mymenshingh/Jhenaidah), and Md. Hasan (Jessore).

Financial Express Bangladesh newspaper said the 4 were killed by "army personnel". It quoted the Embassy as saying that "army personnel" asked the Bangladesh nationals to stop at a checkpoint in Al-Gawarhs district, but they didn't.

"Being feared, they tried to flee the spot quickly violating the order without showing their identities. The army personnel then fired gunshots at them, suspecting that they were members of a rival group," the newspaper reported.
