The International Association of Rights and Freedoms (IARF) has held the international community and the UN Mission in Libya responsible for the crimes that are being committed by Dignity Operation forces against the people of Derna.

In a statement on Thursday, the IARF demanded a full lift of the siege imposed on the city and to stop the shelling.

It also called for the opening of the roads for trade to provide the population with food items and basic needs, stressing that the situation in Derna is becoming worse as a result of the severe shortage of basic commodities, foodstuffs, medicines and fuel.

The IARF criticized the states that claim to support human rights at a time they are acting to impose Haftar in the political process, while forces are committing massacres and crimes in several Libyan cities.

Derna has been under siege for around three years. The armed groups besieging the city started early last May a military offensive on the city in order to take from what they called “terrorists.”
