Interior Minister of the Presidential Council (PC) Fathi Pashaga said Tuesday that the security vacuum in the capital is due to the lack of security arrangements and shortcomings, emphasising the need to form committees, in order to address the situation.

Pashaga said at a press conference following the attack on the Foreign Ministry that the central and western military force has not entered Tripoli yet; on the pretext of lack of funding, explaining that security chaos in the country is serving terrorism, and impeding the implementation of the security arrangements.

“The Ministry of Interior is to establish a General Directorate for security services that will bring together several organs, including anti-terrorism, money-laundering and organized crime departments” Pashaga revealed.

He also accused intelligence of some foreign countries of communicating directly with armed groups in Libya engaged in organized crime and terrorism.
