The Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha discussed Tuesday with United Nations officials providing job opportunities for illegal immigrants in the Libyan market.

The meeting was attended by deputy head of UNSMIL Stephanie Williams, Head of UNHCR John Paul, International Organization for Migration's head of mission and deputy interior minister for illegal immigration affairs Mohammed Al-Shibani.

The Interior Ministry said on Facebook that the meeting went over the conditions of immigrants in general and those who were air attacked by Khalifa Haftar's forces at Tajoura detention center.

The ministry indicated that the meeting also reviewed cooperation between Libya and UNHCR in finding job opportunities at the Libyan market according to everyone's skills.

It added that the UN officials hailed the efforts of the ministry in alleviating the suffering of the immigrants.

The Interior Ministry announced last week that it would shut down three major detention centers in Tajoura, Misrata and Al-Khoms.
