Updated at 6:30 pm: 1 person was killed and 149 others wounded in Benghazi’s Saad Ben Obadah mosque bomb blast, final toll of east-based Ministry of Health shows  

An improvised explosive device went off at Saad Ben Obadah mosque in Majouri neighborhood of Benghazi during Friday prayer leaving 1 person dead and more than 84 others wounded, according to medical sources.

Eyewitnesses said the blast caused extensive damage to the mosque as well.

The Health Ministry of the eastern government reported that the injuries vary from minor to critical, which implies that the death toll could rise at any moment.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack comes just 17 days after a twin car explosion on Bait Radwan mosque in Salmani neighborhood which left 25 people dead and 51 others wounded.
