The parallel Administrative Control Authority of the House of Representatives (HoR) has suspended the Minister of Local Government, Mohammed Al-Faruq, for three months to investigate him on the grounds of corruption and administrative irregularities.

The decision issued by the head of the committee, Abdel Salam al-Hassi, stipulated that the minister should be suspended for three months and investigated for committing irregularities and anomalies in cases 36, 2016, 66/2016 and 97/2018.

Many charges of corruption have been against the minister. Earlier the HoR summoned him on the backgrounds of financial and administrative corruption, and non-compliance with the regulations and laws in force, in addition to accusations of misappropriation of public funds.

In the same context, the HoR referred in mid-January, cases of financial, legal and administrative violations, claimed to be committed by the Attorney General of the Ministry of Health in the Interim Government, Saad Aqoub al-Qatani, to the Attorney General's Office in Tripoli for investigation and legal action.

Al-Qatani was accused of failing to execute judicial rulings and manipulating money allocated for the treatment of children with oncology and blood diseases in Jordan, in addition to the formation of a tender committee for importing medicines and medical equipment without obtaining credits at the official rate.
