Abdullah Blehiq

The spokesman for the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR), Abdullah Blehiq, said the HoR session Tuesday resulted in instructing the roadmap committee to continue work with all parties to reach a real date for elections as soon as possible.

Blehiq said on his Facebook page that the HoR session decided that the tasks of the roadmap committee end by the end of this January while the Speaker, Aqila Saleh, said the session was assigned to hearing the work done by the committee.

Saleh said the HoR will be convening every Monday and Tuesday and all members are required to attend, saying those who don't attend will be facing legal measures, including being rendered as obstructionists, getting their salaries deducted, their votes unaccounted and eventually, their memberships suspended.

Meanwhile, the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Head of the roadmap committee, Naser Al-Deen Mehanna, said in his briefing of the committee’s work at the HoR that the committee worked on four tracks: constitutional, executive, national reconciliation, and security, saying he is optimistic that a solution to the crisis in Libya would be reached.
