The Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) said the statement of the embassies of the UK, US, Germany, Italy and France was an unacceptable intervention in Libya's domestic affairs and wouldn't be in line with the current track of reconciliation and unity.

The HoR also reiterated the need to hold elections as per the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum's roadmap.

Meanwhile, the High Council of State also regarded the statement of the embassies as an intervention in Libya's internal affairs, adding that violation of sovereignty is not only in the presence of mercenaries but also by the attempt by certain countries to impose policies in Libya.

In a joint statement Friday, the five embassies said they believed that "now is not the time for any disruptive changes at the relevant bodies which enable that preparation to take place within the timescale set out by UNSCR 2570.
