The Libyan High Council of State (HCS) renewed Thursday in a session in Tripoli the need for activating the constitutional track, issuing consensual laws between the HCS and the House of Representatives (HoR) to help elections succeed and end the transitional phase.

The HCS discussed the latest political process developments and the current deadlock after the failure to hold elections on December 24, 2021.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, the HCS held a meeting with heads of permanent committees to discuss elections after two days from their meeting with the roadmap committee of the House of Representatives.

The meeting reiterated the need for speeding up practical steps to devise constitutional basis and hold elections through constitutional referendum.
