The Libyan High Council of State said the Presidential Council has the right to sign memoranda of understanding with any country, especially the ones that can secure Libyan resources and border security.

The High Council of State said on Facebook Tuesday that the MoUs signed with Turkey are very important as well as legitimate as they comply with the Libyan Political Agreement and local laws.

It also said it was strange that some countries were denouncing the Presidential Council's right to persevere Libyan resources, adding that the MoUs don't target any one specific country.

Libya's Presidential Council and Turkey signed on November 27 MoUs in security and maritime cooperation, which was rejected by several countries, including Egypt and Greece.
