The Ministry of Health has condemned in the strongest terms the kidnapping of four staff members of Ibn Sina Hospital in Haftar-controlled Sirte.

Two doctors, a pediatrician and anesthesiologist, in addition to a nurse and an administrative employee have been taken to an unknown destination by an armed group and their fate remains unknown, The Health Ministry said Wednesday.

"Such violations committed against innocent people and medical personnel by outlaw groups in Sirte hinder the work of health facilities that provides essential services to citizens," the ministry added in its statement.

It called on the elders of the city to intervene to bring those kidnapped back safe immediately, reminding them that the hospital's staff were always present to provide humanitarian and medical services to the people of the city.
