The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, launched Wednesday the gathering of west coast municipalities in Sorman city under the slogan “Unity for the Future”.

Menfi addressed the attendees and reiterated that Libyan sovereignty is a red line and that the Presidential Council represents the unity of the country as it has worked tirelessly for the ceasefire, opening the coastal road between east and west Libya and supporting the work of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission.

Menfi added that the Presidential Council had launched a national commission to establish the project of national reconciliation and unification of state institutions, especially the Central Bank of Libya, hailing the role of the 12 west coast municipalities in organizing the gathering that paves the way for national reconciliation.

The gathering was attended by the first deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, several MPs, mayors and the commander of the west coast military zone, among others.
