Chairman of Presidential Council Fayez Sarraj and Algerian interim president Abdelkader Bensalah held talks in Algiers over the repercussions of the ongoing war on Tripoli on Thursday.

Sarraj arrived in Algeria Thursday morning a day after similar talks in Tunisia with president Beji Caid Essebsi.

President Bensalah expressed his country’s support for the Government of National Accord, and vowed rejection to the war on Tripoli, saying his country will exert efforts to stop the aggression.

He confirmed that no military solution to the Libyan crisis and that Algeria stands with its Libyan brothers.

“The security of Algeria is the security of Libya”. Bensalah told Sarraj.

For his part, Sarraj thanked Algeria for its positive stances towards Libya, confirming that confrontations with the aggressors will continue until they return to their pre-offensive bases.

The Libyan delegation, which included foreign minister Mohammed Sayala and some Libyan Army officers, also engaged in separate talks with their Algerian counterparts over security and military cooperation.
