The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj met Sunday with a delegation of a number of mayors from Zintan, Msallata, Gharyan, Al-Zahraa, Al-Azizya, Nalut, Hay Al-Andalus, and Abu Salim.

The delegation of mayors reiterated their support for the Government of National Accord amid the ongoing crisis in the country, stressing the need for economic and administrative reforms that can enhance the living conditions for all Libyans, in addition to activating the local governance system.

Al-Sarraj welcomed the mayors in Tripoli and hailed the role of municipal councils in achieving stability and providing services to the people, adding that the Presidential Council would keep on making reforms in different fields in state institutions.

Al-Sarraj announced as well the allocation of an emergency budget, to be available next week, for municipalities to enhance the services they provide to people, saying the local revenue system had been approved and the bank accounts of the revenue will be available for use by municipalities in a few days as local authorities would be under the control of municipal councils.
