The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj has reaffirmed that the Libyan Army forces are going to continue to defend Tripoli and the civilian state against the offensive of Khalifa Haftar's forces.

In a meeting with the commanders of Burkan Al-Ghadab (Volcano of Rage) Operation on Sunday, Al-Sarraj said their priorities include providing for the frontlines, taking care of injured fighters and people, displaced people, and working on unifying the military institution in the country.

"Victory is getting closer for the Libyan Army against the forces of military rule and dictatorship. The victory will pave the way for peace in this country." He added.

Al-Sarraj also referred to the initiative he proposed last June that includes holding an inter-Libyan gathering for those who believe in the civilian state, then pave the path for elections, stressing that there is no place in this vision for those who have committed war crimes.

"The military institution must be united so the country can have one army that protects all Libyans and perseveres their security, stability and the sovereignty of their land. The military institution must be under a civilian and political authority as per all international laws." Al-Sarraj explained.

He also talked about allowing fighters from all factions to join the military institution by providing them with the necessary training programs.

The meeting is yet another one of a series of meetings Al-Sarraj is holding to reach what he calls "a national vision for a national project after the end of the war on Tripoli."
