The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, reviewed Monday with the Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj, the latest about the Libyan political stalemate and the cooperation between the two countries in fields of mutual interest.

Al-Sirraj's media office said that he reiterated from Istanbul the appreciation of Libyans for the Turkish support and push for the political process in the country.

"We think that reaching a national reconciliation in Libya means reaching a democratic united state that commits itself to the constitution, which shall be adopted before the end of 2018 so we can have elections for Libyans to have the final call." Al-Sirraj said, according to his media office.

He also told Erdoğan of the importance of the return of Turkish firms to Libya to boost economy and help in construction.

Erdoğan also reaffirmed their willingness to help Libya by partaking in investment and development projects, reiterating his country's support for the Presidential Council, hailing, together with Al-Sirraj, the results of the Libya-Turkey economic conference that ended Sunday in Istanbul.

The meeting was also attended by Libya's Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala, Planning Minister Al-Taher Al-Jahmi, Libya's ambassador to Turkey, Abdelrazzak Mukhtar and a number of Turkish officials.
