The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj arrived in Cairo on Saturday and met with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Sunday.

Both Al-Sisi and Al-Sirraj reviewed the recent developments on the political level in Libya, touching upon the ongoing efforts of the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame to end Libya's crisis, besides discussing cooperation in fighting terrorism, the media office of Al-Sirraj reported.

The spokesman of the Egyptian President, Bassam Radi, said Al-Sisi and Al-Sirraj also discussed different issues of mutual interest and concern in addition to the Egyptian efforts to help all Libyan parties to rally around the action plan of the Head of the UNSMIL, saying the political process is the only way out of Libya's crisis.

"All Libyan parties must look to the best benefit of their country and to the efforts aiming at regaining stability, security and peace in Libya. They should concentrate on rebuilding Libya's state institutions for the best of the country and the citizens." Al-Sisi was cited as saying.

Al-Sirraj and Al-Sisi also agreed on more security cooperation with meetings for interior ministry officials and security apparatuses' officials from Egypt and Libya, besides some scheduled visits for Egyptian technical delegations to Tripoli airport and other Libyan airports to check on the security measures and then facilitate the resumption of flights between Cairo and Libya.

According to the media office of Al-Sirraj, Egypt agreed to ease residence procedures and review the hurdles posed by visa requirements for Libyans inside Egypt or wishing to travel to it.

The two countries also agreed to form a joint committee that includes economic and service sectors as well as security and political ones, saying that it will hold its first meeting in January 2018, with the aim of creating new investments that benefit both countries.
