President of Libya’s High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri, arrived in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta on Friday to rally support for the Presidential Council against warlord Khalifa Haftar-led aggression on Tripoli.

Al-Mishri held separate talks with foreign minister Retno Marsudi and speaker of House of Representative Bambang Soesatyo centered on the current aggression on Tripoli by warlord Haftar’s armed groups.

According to the media office of Al-Mishri, Marsudi expressed her country’s rejection of the war on Tripoli and vowed support for the Presidential Council, saying attacks on civilians in Tripoli and on the migrants’ shelters constitute war crimes.

She demanded an immediate end to the hostilities in Tripoli, the media office reported.

For his part, the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representative Bambang Soesatyo stressed that his country strongly supports the Government of National Accord as the legitimate representative of Libya, and it refuses to use of force to impose opinions.

He also stressed his country's keenness to promote the economic ties between Indonesia and Libya, especially in the field of oil and gas.
