Several members from the High Council of State (HCS) issued a statement calling on the House of Representatives in Tobruk to seek unity and work with the HCS to help achieve the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) goals, especially reshaping the executive authority in Libya so the constitution and elections can be accomplished.

The statement, signed by over 50 members, said the call comes amid the inaction of the Presidential Council toward the division in state institutions among other issues, pointing out that the PC's policy is based on "deactivation" and is thus causing many problems.

"Public expenditure has become a waste of Libya's money amid the lack of control authorities related to the legislative authority and the absence of the budget law that can regulate the expenditure channels, not to mentioning that the PC government is "designated" which made most of its orders challengeable at courtrooms." The HCS' statement reads.

They also said that the HCS has taken up its responsibilities over the last two years against all odds, adding that despite the reactions following most of its orders, it continues to commit itself to the LPA and its essence and is working to create a better environment for cooperation and trust among the parties to push forth the LPA and end Libya's crisis.
