The head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri, accompanied by the first deputy of the council, Masoud Obeid, has met with the German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht o talk over developments related to the election process.

Al-Mishri relayed to the German side the HCS's view on the laws adopted by the House of Representatives (HoR) concerning the candidacy of dual nationals and those holding military ranks.

He also stressed their rejection of the HoR's decision that allows candidates to return to their positions if they do not win the upcoming elections.

The meeting touched upon the electoral districts and parliament's dealing with this issue. In this regard, Al-Mishri considered the HoR's approach as unfair, insisting that the HCS's vision is to hold parliamentary elections at this stage and then go to presidential elections on agreed and constitutional bases.
