The High Council of State member, Abdul-Qader Huwaili has confirmed that a delegation from the HCS headed by its president Khaled Al-Mishri will head to Cairo next week, in response to an invitation by the Egyptian Parliament.

In a statement, Huwaili said the delegation will discuss developing relations between the two countries, especially in the constitutional track dialogue between the Libyan parties.

They will also review means to overcome the anticipated obstacles on the path to the planned elections.

A new round of talks is expected to kick off in a week in Cairo.

On Friday, the UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, confirmed that Al-Mishri reaffirmed the HCS's commitment to take part in the second round of meetings of the Joint HoR/HCS committee in Cairo on 15 May, to reach a consensus on the constitutional arrangements necessary for holding national elections in the shortest time possible.
