The political advisor to the High Council of State (HCS) Ashraf Al-Sheh accused the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame of ambiguity and of being a follower of the previous envoy's style as he devised a plan based on the status quo, which will fail him and lead to his replacement with the Libyan crisis remaining all the same.

Al-Sheh said in a televised statement that Salame talked over and over again about elections without answering to whether the UN is ready to send monitoring teams to all Libyan cities or not so that they can supervise the elections to be a true call of the Libyans themselves.

"But there he is (Salame) speaking of the national conference with a date set for it then the date changes and so on and so forth." He remarked.

"Salame also talked about a government formation via the House of Representatives excluding the HCS, knowing that no government can be formed based on regional choosing as the HoR is ruled by the decision of only 50 or 60 of the members." Al-Sheh added.

He also said that the government must be of consensus to all parties with qualified people in it so that they can unite the state institutions and provide necessary security measures for elections in order for Libyans to decide on the fate of their country.

"Salame deviated from being a mediator as he started putting conditions and initiatives proposed by regional powers which have their agendas in Libya." He indicated.

Al-Sheh also explained that the first positive step towards the solution must come from the HoR with the gathering of all its members who were elected in 2014 outside Tobruk to make a decisive decision.

"All the calls for ending the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) on December 17 must be ignored as the LPA is the only way out for Libya, however; the talk about elections in 2018 is just to play with the feelings of the Libyans as it won't happen in 2018." Al-Sheh added.

Salame said more than once that Libya will go into elections in 2018, likewise; the Chairman of the High Elections Commission in Libya Emad Al-Sayeh announced that a presser will be held on Wednesday in Tripoli and Salame will be attending so that they both pronounce the registration kickoff for the upcoming elections.
