A warplane from Khalifa Haftar's Air Force carried out in the early hours of Wednesday an airstrike on a detention center for illegal migrants in Tajoura, eastern Tripoli, without any reported casualties.

A source from the Anti-Illegal Immigration Authority (AIFA) at the center said that all migrants and workers were in good conditions and there had been only material damage by the airstrike due to the shrapnel.

The center administration called on the UNSMIL to take up its responsibilities in protecting migrants from airstrikes by Khalifa Haftar's forces.

Last April, Haftar's forces targeted a detention center for migrants in Qasir Benghashir in southern Tripoli, leaving behind 12 injured migrants.

On Monday and Tuesday, fighting has seen some relative calm but Haftar's Air Force continued to carry out nighttime airstrikes with several artillery shelling acts in southern Tripoli.

Meanwhile, the UN is currently investigating UAE's role in providing Haftar with Chines-made drones and missiles for his war on Tripoli.
