A militia affiliated with warlord Khalifa Haftar attacked Tuesday, a group of demonstrators who were protesting against the seizing of their properties by the militias in the Garyounis area of Benghazi.

A video clip showed the protesters demanding to restitute their lands and properties that the militias took by force and said this is happening under jungle law.

The clip showed armed men who -according to local sources- were from the 106 militia group led by Haftar's son, Khaled, attacking the protesters.

The protesters appealed to the judiciary to intervene to end the "injustice," threatening to take their rights themselves if their demands were not met.

The incident is not the first of its kind in Benghazi. Since Haftar's militias took control of the city, the residents in several areas suffered attacks, intimidation, and expulsion from their homes.

Human rights organizations had documented that armed men affiliated with Haftar's militia attacked the homes of civilians in the city of Benghazi and even threatened to kill them, accusing them of treason.

Social media platforms have also circulated video clips showing militias in the east attacking the homes of the displaced from Benghazi and Derna.
