The spokesman of the Libyan Army's Sirte-Jufra Operations Room Abdelhadi Drah said Khalifa Haftar's forces had violated the ceasefire Thursday morning by firing over 12 Grad rockets at their positions.

Drah told reporters that the ceasefire violation proved that the forces in Sirte were just militias that abide by no orders, saying Libyan Army forces would be ready to respond to any attacks.

The room said Haftar and his Russian Wagner Group mercenaries were trying to target them with Grad rockets since early Thursday morning, in a clear violation of the ceasefire announcement.

The Head of Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj and House of Representatives Speaker Aqila Saleh announced a ceasefire across Libya last Friday and the step was welcomed by many countries, including Haftar's supporters.

While GNA forces said it would fully commit to the ceasefire, Haftar's forces rejected it and said the agreement announced by Saleh and Al-Sirraj was just a media propaganda, adding that they won't withdraw from Sirte and Jufra peacefully.
