The spokesman for Khalifa Haftar's forces Ahmed Al-Mismari said Saturday that Khalifa Haftar had given the green light for a ceasefire that starts on Saturday afternoon and ends on Monday evening.

This comes after the Presidential Council in Tripoli has agreed to the humanitarian truce during Eid Al-Adha as proposed by the Head of the UNSMIL Ghassan Salame.

Earlier, UNSMIL said it was sorry that it hadn't received agreement on the truce from Haftar's forces.

It stressed that it had received the Government of National Accord's agreement but not that of "Libyan National Army."

The UN mission in Libya called on the warring parties to allow Libyans to have some joy and happiness in Eid Al-Adha and to allow a safe return of Hajis from Mecca to their home.
