Spokesman of the Libyan Army, Colonel Mohammad Qanunu

The spokesman for the Libyan Army under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Mohammed Gununu said they don't trust the truce announced by Khalifa Haftar as his violations and attacks against civilians in Tripoli continue unabated.

Gununu said Saturday that the announcement of this false truce by Haftar at this time aims to allow his backers to send him mercenaries and weapons from the UAE and Egypt, adding that he is not a partner to the GNA anymore in the peace process after his coup declaration on the Libyan Political Agreement and its associated institutions.

Gununu also said that GNA forces will continue to defend themselves and target all threats and attacks until they uproot the outlaw armed groups across the country.

He also slammed the inhumane rocket attack of Haftar's forces on Zanata area in Tripoli, killing two people and injuring four others, including children.

"Our Air Force carried out four airstrikes in the vicinity of Nassama twon on Friday, targeting fuel trucks and military vehicles to cut off supplies to Haftar's forces." Gununu remarked.

The Libyan Air Force carried out four airstrikes on Friday on Al-Watiya airbase and other strikes on a vehicle transporting mercenaries in south Bani Walid as well as on military targets in Tarhouna.
