The Government of National Unity (GNU) has decided to postpone its meeting scheduled to take place in Benghazi on Monday, provided that preparations for a later date will take place as soon as possible, the GNU Spokesman confirmed.

The GNU's decision came after Haftar's militia emphasized they will not allow the GNU cabinet ministers to enter the city.

A government delegation consisting of security and protocol officers arrived at Benina airport on Monday evening but were forced to fly back to Mitiga Airport of Tripoli after a group of militias affiliated with Haftar cordoned off the airport.

The GNU ministers were waiting at Mitiga airport for their flight to Benghazi when they were informed that the first delegation is on its way back, leading the government to call off the ministers' trip.

It is noteworthy that the GNU has planned to hold a meeting with all its cabinet in Benghazi on Monday, at the request of Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.
