The GNC Committee of Defense and Security has denounced the kidnapping of the four Italian workers as they were on their way to work in Mellitah Oil and Gas.
The committee said, in a statement Monday, that it strongly denounces such a heinous act, which goes at odds with laws and Libyan genuine traditions, especially in the Eid times, likewise, it shoulders the kidnappers the responsibility for the safety of the Italians.
The committee urged the kidnappers to immediately release the four Italians and to keep them and their properties safe and sound.
The four employees of the Italian construction company of Bonatti were kidnapped Sunday near Mellitah compound, 22 Km to the east of Zuwara. Their whereabouts and the identity of the kidnappers are still unknown.
