The German Foreign Ministry has issued a statement expressing its discomfort of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s remarks regarding potential military intervention in Libya.

In a press conference on Monday, German Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Christopher Burger said that instability in Libya is clearly a regional dimension, stressing it is necessary to seek prompt solutions to the conflict.

"Germany is communicating with all parties and we are pushing to forward negotiations under the auspices of the United Nations," the German official added, renewing his country's call for all parties to comply with the arms embargo.

In the same context, the representative of the German Council of Ministers, Steffen Seibert has confirmed that Berlin's stance remains the same, "Parties to the conflict must respect the armistice and seek a political solution," the statement read.
