The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) said a total blackout had been caused in central and southern power networks due to the abstaining of some areas from adhering to the program of rolling power cuts in the regions.

Two days ago, GECOL announced a total blackout in the western region. Later, its service teams managed to regain power after fixing the damaged grids of the western region's power network.

All of Libya has been seeing repeated blackouts, plunging people in more miseries as they endured long hours of power cuts and load shedding programs.

In addition to the power problem in southern Libya, the outage causes water supplies' shortages to Tripoli and coastal as well as mountain cities as Man-made River wells in Shweirif and Hasawna areas stop operating due to the power cuts.
