A ceasefire agreement, reached by Tabu and Tuareq tribes in Sabha, has been broken on Monday; days after both tribes agreed to end the conflict in the city.

Clashes renewed in Hai Tayori district with both sides exchanging heavy fire. One person was killed and four others injured in the fresh clashes.

On Saturday, both sides declared a truce following days of heavy fighting. The truce obliges both tribes to stop the fight and reopen main roads in the city. In addition, it allows people to move freely within the city to facilitate the evacuation of the injured as well as the elderly and guarantee a safe return for the displaced from both sides.

Local reports said more than 4000 local residents have fled the fighting, in the southern part of the city, to the city center where they have been hosted in schools.
