The ambassadors of France, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States welcomed the decision of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) to lift the force majeure and resume production in Sharara oilfield.

The ambassadors also praised in a statement the leadership of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, Ghassan Salame and the United Nations Mission in Libya in strengthening the security arrangements that allowed the NOC to resume its vital work, according to the US embassy's Facebook.

The statement called for the Libyan oil resources to remain under the exclusive control of the NOC and the Government of the Presidential Council alone, for the benefit of the Libyan people, as articulated in the resolutions of the Security Council.
