France, Germany and Poland have called in a joint statement on Sunday for the necessity of stopping all foreign interference in Libyan affairs, in addition to the full implementation of the arms embargo.

The three European countries also stressed that “there is no military solution to the crisis in the country”.

“The European Union’s recent sanctions against entities that violate the embargo is a positive step, and it must follow up on these sanctions against illegal oil exports, human rights violations, and saboteurs of the UN-led political process”, the statement read.

They reaffirmed that the European Union is committed to implementing the arms embargo through the Operation Irini.

“The priority should be on the cessation of hostilities on the ground, support the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum and reach a permanent ceasefire agreement, within the framework of the Joint Military Committee”, it added.
