The Undersecretary for International Cooperation and Organizations at the Foreign Ministry, Omar Keti, on Monday held an extensive meeting with the Chairman of the National Council for Public Liberties and Human Rights, Omar Al-Hijazi, to discuss the situation of international and internal organizations working in the field of human rights and the need for their presence in Libya.

The meeting discussed issues related to international governmental and non-governmental organizations operating inside Libya that are concerned with humanitarian and human rights.

The participants stressed the need for the Council and the Foreign Ministry to continue cooperation in this respect.

They touched upon the nature of the work of the organizations and their involvement with immigration, refugees, and illegal immigrants.

In this context, they highlighted the attempts of some organizations to exploit the immigration file in the human rights area and the accusations made from time to time about the human rights situation in Libya.
