The Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Manqoush, called for the launch of a comprehensive, realistic process for national reconciliation and the restoration of justice.

In a meeting which she held with the United Nations’ envoy, Jan Kubis, she stressed the necessity for a more coordinated and cooperative approach in addressing the root causes of the conflict in Libya.

Al-Manqoush expressed her appreciation for the great support of the UN and the international community in general towards Libya at this critical time.

For his part, Kubis reiterated the UN’s readiness to intervene with all necessary technical expertise in order to assist the newly elected government in various fields, to ensure a peaceful and effective transition to what he hoped would be a stage of stability and long-lasting peace in the country.
