16 Dignity Operation fighters were killed in renewed clashes in Benghazi on Friday, local sources reported, despite the declaration of total victory by renegade General Khalifa Haftar.

The sources said fierce fighting erupted between Dignity Operation and Shura Council fighters in Kharibish neighborhood. 6 Shura Council fighters were also killed in the fighting. Unconfirmed reports also indicated that a number of Egyptian soldiers were killed in the fighting alongside Dignity Operation.  

Meanwhile, Dignity Operation air force continued Saturday its intense airstrikes on Sabri and downtown areas.         

On Wednesday, Khalifa Haftar declared full control over the war-torn city of Benghazi. In a short televised speech to his supporters, he said the victory of his armed groups over the “terrorists” in was complete and undeniable.
