The head of the NGO, Victims for Human Rights, Nasser Al-Hawari, has claimed that the commander of Saiqa unit of Dignity Operation, Mahmud Al-Werrfalli, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, stormed Kuwaifiya Prison in Benghazi and abducted one of the female prisoners on Wednesday.

In a telephone contact with Alnabaa news channel, Al-Hawari identified the prisoner as 17-year-old Marwa Al-Werrfalli, who has been in captivity for two years on charges of terrorism.

He pointed out that Marwa was sharing a cell with two other prisoners that are close to her age and accused of the same charge, indicating that the three female prisoners were imprisoned after being arrested from their homes by members of the Salafist Tariq bin Ziyad brigade, which is affiliated to the forces of Khalifa Haftar.

There are concerns that Marwa would be executed by the serial killer Al-Werrfalli as her fate and whereabouts now are still unknown.

On Wednesday, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Fatou Bensouda, reiterated her call for Khalifa Haftar’s self-styled army to hand over Mahmud Al-Werrfalli, saying he is still free and may have committed other war crimes since his last arrest warrant.
