Palestinian Fatah member, Mohammed Dahlan, was a subject for an investigation by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for his involvement with Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi and Gaddafi's Intelligence Chief, Abdullah Al-Sanousi, in different crimes in Libya, the Middle East Eye unveiled.

The ICC disclosed that it had investigated alleged involvement of two Palestinian nationals, Mohammed Dahlan and Mohamed Borhan Rashid, whose involvement with Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi, Abdullah Al Sanousi, and other individuals were potentially most responsible for the most serious crimes under the Rome Statute, adding that such claims are of great concern to the ICC, the MEE reported on Saturday.

In late 2012, ICC's prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, said that in furtherance of the investigation, her office sought the assistance of the Government of Palestine in relation to the alleged involvement of Dahlan and the other national in crimes against humanity alongside Gaddafi's son and henchmen.

It was unclear to the MEE if the investigation of the ICC is still ongoing.

The ICC issued in June 2011 an arrest warrant for Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi on two counts of crimes against humanity.

Likewise, Tripoli Appeals Court sentenced in absentia to death by a firing squad Saif Al-Islam and Abdullah Al-Sanousi.
